Introducing our newest addition to the Balco fire barrier lineup: the MetaFlex Pro Shear Wall 8-18.” This convenient, single package is ideal for medium-sized vertical joints with a 2-hour fire rating and up to ±100% movement. Save on labor with easy-to-handle rigid flanges, no required caulking or adhesives, intuitive male/female splicing and no sharp stainless steel foil. This product complements the MetaFlex Pro family in wall applications.
Our family of Balco Face Seals is getting an upgrade. Through proprietary innovation (patent pending) we are now able to expand the systems of FCWW, FCVS, TCWW, and TCVS with no sag or deflection from 18″ (nominal) up to large seismic joints of 36″ (nominal) at ±100% movement, ideal for exterior soffits and deep recesses.
We have taken our 6000 Glide Plate Series (the 6GW, 6GWC, SS6GW and SS6GWC) to the larger sizes of 10″ and 12″ (nominal), as well as modified the cover splicing to be easier and faster (requiring only KTC clips between butted plates, eliminating the need for any in-field grinding). These changes accommodate the need for slightly larger wall/ceiling covers, but where the flush, no-exposed-fastener look of the Glide Plate Series is still preferred.
We have essentially doubled the sizes offered for our BCP system, our economical plate cover for carpet applications in smaller joints. Originally available in only 1″ & 2,” we now offer standardized joint sizes 3″ and 4.”

Introducing the new BSLJ compressible foam seal for seismic large joints, available in 6-15″ at ±25% movement.
The MetaFlex Pro Shear MAX 3-Hour for the floor has been extended from it’s large joint sizes of 39-72″ to now accommodate the joint sizes 21-36,” giving it the full range of 21-72″ (max open) and closing the gap between it and the sizes of the MetaFlex Pro 3-Hour (8-18″). These additions help complete the MetaFlex Pro family of 3-hour-rated floor joints.
The BHSF/BHSFL, an extension of the retrofit Balco Hinge System (BHS/BHSL), is officially launched. This design accommodates larger joint sizes, seismic movement with vertical and horizontal shear, and pedestrian load capacity.
The ConVerge System (PJC) has been engineered to now come in a standardized smaller size. The system can now cover a 2-inch joint size with ±50% to ±100% movement.
